HEAVENS WHAT HAVE I DONE

Working from the principle that less is more but more is interesting too, Miguel Gutierrez and the Powerful People explore how to move inside of—and in relationship to—text projections. With Gutierrez’ characteristic inclusiveness, Untitled Project with Jenny Holzer but I’m not allowed to give it a name yet draws us into a visceral experience of intimacy, brokenness, and the melancholy of longing. This work-in-progress is presented together with the solo piece HEAVENS WHAT HAVE I DONE.  An active figure in the New York performance scene for the past twelve years, groundbreaking dance and music artist Miguel Gutierrez has taught and presented work around the world.

"His political and creative restlessness —his refusal to settle and to settle down—makes him one of our most provocative and necessary artistic voices.”

“There are people who are born to make art, to make us think, to make us question what we do, and Miguel is one of those people.” — Carley Petesch, The Brooklyn Rail
